This was my second visit and it was even better. It was a busy night and we waited a little, but we had a drink at the bar and our table was ready before we finished. They texted us when our table was ready. The service was fast even though the place was packed. The trout and bratwurst was so so good. The community dining was fun. We sat with people that we found things in common so easily. I loved being able to meet new people over really good food.

Amazing German food, super tasty and very light, if German food can be. Got the trout and pork roll. The trout was very well made with good flavor, spinach side was perfect. The pork roll was amazing, very nice fat content and great chew and sauce. The potato salad was on point with the cucumber slices. Also their tartar sauce was amazing, it's more sauce than paste like most places.

I have eaten here a couple of times before a symphony performance, and itΓ’β¬β’s an incredibly fun place to eat and drink when itΓ’β¬β’s busy (and IΓ’β¬β’m not even a fan of being in crowds). The food and beer is fantastic, and the servers are very friendly, making it a fun experience.

Very authentic and tasty place that has delicious food and great many beer options. One of the best German places in the city.

Service was good. The loudness was so off-putting to me we nearly left but the host was able to seat us in a somewhat quieter back room. Our food came quickly. My DH ordered the potato pancakes and applesauce. Γ’β¬ΕNot as good as my grandma made, but good.Γ’β¬Β We are glad we went.

I celebrated my nomination yesterday in this fine place. happy to tell that we enjoyed a tremendous evening and the place was undoubtedly the reason for the outstanding evening. The stuff contributed in a sweet style, the cuisine was great and my friends were so delighted. We shall surely visit again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

From just looking at the front door, you wouldn't expect that behind the entrance lies a magical place. After leaving behind the city streets of San Francisco, you're transported into a delicious German restaurant laid out in a communal dining hall style. It oozes that feeling like Gaston is going to pop out and start breaking into a Disney song and dance routine. I realize that this would be a reference to a bar somewhere in Medieval France, rather than Germany but, let's just roll with it. Everything here is delicious. If it sounds good, order it. If it doesn't sound good, order it. You can even get your very own Das Boot to wash it all down. But forget about this review; why am I even writing this...? You see the reviews, you see the star count, you know this place is going to be a hit. Find some time to check it out. You won't regret it.

Great place to hang out with friends over great food and beer. The restaurant is small and crowded, but it's the atmosphere that makes it perfect for catching up. They have large boots/mugs that you can order great volumes of beer, provided you put a deposit on the glassware (yes, people steal them). This should be a bay area staple. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Had a very good experience here with my daughter. The food comes quickly and the service is just great. Prices are convenient.

Came by for dessert. Years ago, the Γ°ΕΈΒΕ½ strudel was SO good. But this time, was very disappointed. Left an oily after taste that lingered. The main dishes, from memory, were excellent. So rating 3 Γ°ΕΈΕΕΈ for a 1 Γ°ΕΈΕΕΈ dessert and, from memory, a 5 Γ°ΕΈΕΕΈ dinner. Look forward to coming back again to try the dinner.

Great German place. The pork is pretty dry and over cooked, donΓ’β¬β’t take it. The special braised veal is the best they have from meat. And beeeer - lot of beers from Germany!

One of my favorite brunch spots in Hayes Valley. Sadly it's only inna Sunday but totally worth the weeks wait. Great German bread rolls to start and then sausages, eggs, scrambles and more!

We enjoy going out. Last night we went to this excellent restaurant which friends recommended to us. We enjoyed a lovely evening there with fine dishes and a courteous team and an impressive cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will surely return soon. We deeply recommend.
